Critical Adventure: Expedition to the Core

Our first expedition is a journey into the wild and seldom explored regions of the masculine heart.  Does that sound strange?  It probably does.  It is easy to read over ‘heart’ and not really feel the full impact of what that one little word means in our life.  The NIV Study Bible describes heart (in Biblical language) as:

 

The center of the human spirit, from which springs emotions, thought, motivations, courage and action – “the wellspring of life”

By this definition our hearts are crucial to experiencing true life, abundant life, freedom!  Isn’t that what we crave - to be courageous, strong, men of action - ALIVE.  Without exploring our hearts, nurturing and guarding them we will be settling for something much less than life.  So instead of settling for less we are leaving the tired clichés of masculinity behind and heading to the core where we will discover:

¨	Why we yearn for adventure.
¨	Why every man needs a good battle to fight.
¨	God’s plan for how we relate to the captivating beauty of our feminine counterparts.
¨	Ways to explore and acknowledge our past so that our growth in the present is not hindered.
¨	What it means to find your true identity.
